Garder le fil

Stephan Goldrajch

18 March 2026

With three classes from the Anita Conti Maritime High School (Fécamp).

In spring 2026.

This project arose from the desire of the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie and the Lycée maritime Anita Conti in Fécamp to jointly develop an artist-in-residence programme. Aware of the specific nature of the teaching provided at the school, the Centre photographique proposed inviting the Belgian visual artist Stephan Goldrajch for a series of creative workshops drawing on the maritime imagination.

Exploring various knitting techniques, the artist is notably the creator of numerous participatory and intergenerational works with a civic dimension, detailed in the artistic dossier. It is this same approach—combining the artist’s aesthetic vision and ability to convey knowledge with the skills and imaginations of the students in training (mending, nautical knots, etc.)—that will be adopted here. Throughout the workshops, photographs will be taken to document, step by step, the creation of the final piece.

The ‘Garder le fil’ project, conceived for the ‘Jumelage’ scheme, complements a ‘Regards de la Région Normandie’ project to enable the development of a major residency with an international artist. In practical terms, this will add to the current partnership four half-day workshops (12 hours), a preliminary exhibition of the artist’s work within the school, and an ‘outreach’ element: a visit to the Fécamp Fisheries Museum with Stephan Goldrajch.

As part of the partnership scheme with the Drac de Normandie and Regards (Region).
