Conference by Adrienne Boutang

14 December 2021

American adolescence: the story of a fantasy in images.

To echo Eva O’Leary’s exhibition, the Centre photographique Rouen Normandie has invited Adrienne Boutang. Her presentation will examine the visual invention of a figure that has become iconic, that of the adolescent, exploring the tension between authenticity and imaginary reconstruction.

A senior lecturer in film and English studies, Adrienne Boutang researches censorship and the representation of adolescence in cinema. She has published a book on the subject (Les Teen Movies, Vrin), as well as numerous articles. Her most recent publications have focused on the representation of minorities in cinema, notably in the book Black Lights, published by Capricci.

Free event, open to all.

Health pass required for those aged 12 and over.
