Wirkwelt: A Journey into Dissonant Worlds

With 10th and 12th grade students in the “Management of an Agricultural Enterprise” and “Agricultural Equipment Maintenance” programs.

At the Gilbert Martin Agricultural Vocational High School (Le Neubourg).

In the spring of 2021.

“I suggested that they make forays outside their familiar environments: using specific microphones – such as microcontacts that record vibrations, hydrophones that extend our hearing to aquatic worlds, or electromagnetic microphones that capture waves such as those of Wifi. The students explored these environments with new senses, technologically enhanced” Aladin Borioli.

The course is composed of performances, classes, visits and landscape readings with the Centre d’Architecture d’Urbanisme et d’Environnement de l’Eure, the presentation of Aladin Borioli’s work to all classes followed by weeks of workshops around sound recording and filming, workshops with Jean Constantino Gineste Suarez of the radio association Principe Actif and a typographic workshop led by Aladin Borioli and Martin Huger.

This project is the subject of an exhibition at the Gilbert Martin high school and of a film. It is accompanied by a printed form composed of an envelope with traces of the typographies collected by the students and inside: a text written by Aladin Borioli on his residence in Neubourg, as well as a large poster with views of the film made accompanied by the students’ dialogues.

As part of the “Alter-Échos” triptych series, in partnership with the Normandy Region, the DRAC Normandy, the DRAAF, the City of Le Neubourg, and the CAUE 27.
